Sylvia Browne now brings us an amazing volume on self-healing. Largely made up of actual research trance transcripts from her spirit guides, this book is a must-read for those who suffer from chronic physical problems but can’t seem to find relief from conventional medicine. (However, this work is not meant to replace medical treatment, but rather to augment it.) Sylvia also shares her innovative and proven methods of healing using cell memory and morphic … More >>

One might assume a book with this title would be ironic. But I forget–Republicans aren’t funny. Ah. Read the other reviews to see what kinda folks gravitate toward this book. That’s the best review. I respect Brown’s TV appearances on Montel and hoped she’d talk more about Montel–but poor lady, she just don’t cut the mustard in that regard. But if you want an earfull of her adolescent phallic fixation with firearms and the notion that we need more of ‘em–then belly up to the bar. This is the book for you.
In cahoots, apparently, with her editor, Big Browne immediately disqualifies herself from knowing standard English expression with her treatise on Browne-speak. OK, fair enough. If you love Big Browne like I love Big Browne–you expect this.
Read it. But don’t expect her to say anything intelligent about phychic healing or how to reduce gun violence–about which this book conveniently contains a dearth of acknowledgment. Sylvia tends to see things as if everybody in her grand, free republic is situated like herself. Her spiritual healing prescriptions hardly fit most Americans. This is why Big Browne’s fans tend to resemble her. Sylvia Browne seems not to have a basic grasp of the diversity or complexity of our society, and she’s too old now to get started on that.
It’s best to let Browne blast away. For a woman her age with nearly no hearing in one ear–and absolutely no hearing in the other, who maintains a healthy physique, keeps on a’rockin’ as she does–just let the lady be. Although she hates them dang people who deny the spiritual when they say it, Sylvia’s right about our disconnectedness with nature, our need to get elbows-deep into a gutpile in the middle of a forest somewhere. On that point–Sylvia’s words resonate here.
For her and herlittle coterie, Phychic Healing is a suitable answer if–if you limit yourself to really minor injuries. Rating: 3 / 5

I love Sylvia Brown but this tape was not what I expected. May be I expected something more. But would not recommend Rating: 3 / 5

Probably the silliest, funniest thing Sylvia’s hacked out yet. What made me laugh the most is the sheer number of those willing to fork over money for Sylvia’s rubbish (and I know she’s probably quite tickled with that aspect, too)…but the sad part is that so many are so desperate for a shred of hope that they’ll get bamboozled by frauds and charlatans, and that some will find–tragically too late–that the “psychic healing” didn’t work, or aggravated their condition.
