God’s Love

In order to examine this love, we must examine the two types of love it encompasses.

The first type is that love which, according to the Greek philosophers, is the cause of the universe’s creation and development – man included. The second type is the human love, multiplied a thousand-fold, where God turns to man to bring him closer and persuade him to accept His Word and ways.

When we talk about love as a creative energy, we refer to a very special type of cosmic energy, of “cosmic love”, which must be plentiful from the universe’s inception up until its very end. The impressive product of this love is the living being in general, and man in particular, with the actualization of this energy’s most impressive peak being in bringing a living creature into the world, including the care and natural bond that exists between the mother and her baby or cubs. Reality proves that this love, despite its infinite ability, does not cause man to be freed of the spiritual inhibitions described in this book.

It therefore transpires that cosmic love’s level of supervision over man’s spiritual development is conditional, and depends on the degree of our spiritual blockages, or alternately, on the adequate expression of our urges and values in general, and of love in particular. With many of us, this supervision is far from sufficient.

The only activity that can improve this supervision is activity performed internally by man. Therefore, he is required to improve himself, namely, to clear his blocked channels, so that cosmic love can efficiently penetrate also into those places that had been blocked up earlier, thereby bringing about the necessary development here as well.

Since the first factor bearing an interest in this development and aware of it is God Himself, the awareness and motivation required for improving man’s capabilities are received by Him. Therefore, it does not matter in which way the content, suitable for improvement, is delivered – whether by God’s revelation or through Israel’s prophets or by the ancient world’s philosophers. What matters is actualizing the aim, for which this content had been given.

Regarding the expression of God’s love of humanity, whose aim is to awaken in human beings the necessary awareness and motivation for overcoming their spiritual inhibitions, in order to be able and willing to realize and fulfill God’s Word. In light of all that has been said up until now, this divine love too, is incapable of dissolving man’s spiritual blockages.

Abraham Adar, the author of the book “Man and the realization of his purpose”, which guides man to realize his purpose through deciphering the Pentateuch’s divine wisdom. Some material from the book as well as additional information is presented in his website: http://www.adar-publishing.com
