April 2009, and Spaniard Angel Cabreras wins the Masters major golf championship at the famous Augusta golf course.
This gives potential for online profits, and here’s how…
The way I use is to write about sport – then once people have read your views, you can send them to a site which you monetize, whether that’s an affiliate site, or maybe giving away a free product from your own site.
Golf is a hugely popular sport around the world, with fans ready to devour information and opinion, and the Masters always gives plenty of scope to write about…
Cabreras is not the first Spanish player to win, and after his win he paid tribute to Seve Ballesteros, a former winner who is now battling brain cancer. Ballesteros is a true giant of the game, admired all over the world, and it’s a genuine touch by Cabreras.
You could write about the tradition of the winner being presented with the green jacket by the previous year’s winner.
You could argue about where the Masters sits in prestige terms amongst the 4 Majors played each year – my own view is that it would lie as the second most important behind the Open in Britain.
Maybe you could focus on the fact that the famously treacherous fast greens at Augusta were slightly toned down this year, allowing some glorious golf – how does this compare with some recent British Opens when the courses have been criticised for being too hard to the point of making the world’s best players look silly?
All in all there are many subjects you can choose to write about, and it only has to be small chunks, and this can generate traffic which you then use to direct towards your monetised sites, making you online profits from Cabreras winning the 2009 Masters.
